Person in a Position of Trust

The Care Act 2014 Statutory Guidance requires that Safeguarding Adults Boards establish a framework and process for any organisation to respond to allegations against anyone who works (in either a paid or an unpaid capacity,) with adults with care and support needs.

This is set out in the WSAB Protocol for Responding to Allegations about People in a Position of Trust Working with Adults.

The Care Act 2014 does not replicate the powers and duties of the LADO to manage Position of Trust concerns regarding the care provided to children.  The protocol states that the agency/service who first become aware of the allegation or concern will be the Information Owner and that they are responsible for taking appropriate action in line with the protocol and agency/service guidance.  The following form should be used to raise and concern
